Polish Process Mining Day 2023

How to use modern data analysis technologies to optimize and better understand processes in the company?

Polish Process Mining Day 2023 is a unique event in Poland focused 100% on process mining technologies.

24th May 2023

Agenda

10:00-10:05

Event Opening

10:05-10:20

Introduction to process mining

Process Mining analytics is a still a novelty for many people. For this reason I will present a short introduction of Process Mining and its concepts to the audience. The focus will be on how Process Mining works and the potential benefits to the organisation.

Łukasz Borowiecki, PhD
CEO, Co-Founder of 10 Senses

10:20-11:00

KEYNOTE: Process Mining for Unstructured Data

Process mining allows discovering bottlenecks in processes and revealing the deviations between real-life processes and to-be one. Process mining usually focuses on processing discrete event data, typically at the business level. The increasing volume of data demands techniques that can identify cause-effects in other types of data that originate at lower levels of the data stack. The first part of my talk outlines new fields of application for process mining and summarizes requirements for new process mining techniques. The second part of my talk shows implementations of the processing of various data types from unstructured data to processes and to AR visualization.

Agnes Koschmider
Professor of Business Informatics at the University of Bayreuth

11:00-11:25

Polish BPM and Process Mining community

Poland is home to many active Process Mining and Business Process Management (BPM) professionals. However, the community as a whole does not receive sufficient visibility. That’s why, during my upcoming lecture, I will provide information about the scientific community, including recent and upcoming events, and highlight some interesting projects. I will also showcase our current projects at AGH Data & Process Mining Group, many of which are focused on Industry 4.0 topics.

Edyta Brzychczy
University Professor, AGH University of Science and Technology

11:25-11:50

Process Mining in the Underground Coal Mine

The speech will present the most interesting results of the work included in the PhD “Analyzing mining process based on event data”. Thesis presents developed the analytic method enabling the modelling and analysis of longwall mining process based on event logs. In addition, the experiences and challenges of applying Process Mining in heavy industry will be presented.

Agnieszka Żuber
Data Scientist in Macrix

11:50-12:00

Coffee Break

12:00-12:25

HEINEKEN’s journey with process mining driven by CoE

A brief overview of the journey HEINEKEN global company is on with process mining, with PM Centre of Excellence Team in the driver’s seat. It is a first-hand sharing experience on implementing process mining in the organization and making it stick, by maintain the right focus on company’s goals, building the active community of users, enabling them to mine for insights and realize value and to sustain process mining in the business as usual process excellence approach.

Karolina Szczurek
Global Process Mining Expert CoE

12:25-12:50

Process Mining: From Asking Questions to Generating Value

Process Mining gives unique visibility into the process. Discover how the X-Ray of your process can help in identifying various hidden improvement opportunities and eliminate or reduce the issues. These inefficiencies are lurking in your processes, silently killing their performance. But on the other hand, this is not a solution that singlehandedly and miraculously can solve all the challenges. In our company we use process mining in conjunction with other tools and methods to generate the best possible outcome. This presentation aims to show our lessons learned when it comes to process mining.

Krzysztof Sitarski
Process Mining Specialist at Zimmer Biomet

12:50-13:15

Do we really need to use process mining to have our processes optimized?

We are now witnessing significant growth in the process mining market, more and more companies are using PM to optimize their processes, the vendor market is growing. On the other hand the question is: does it really work? How does PM work? What results do we have in our organizations? Can we obtain millions of PLN/EUR/USD in profits? What is the real use of PM in organizations? How do we create a “PM ecosystem” so that it pays off?

Olga Kacprzak
IT Team Lead at mBank

13:15-13:40

Process Mining: How to set up a project and prepare the data?

I will present an overview of the key steps involved in initiating and executing a successful process mining project. The focus will be on the critical components of project setup, including its schedule, and data preparation for process mining, which entails data selection, cleaning, and transformation. Additionally, I will share insights into best practices that we have learned from our experience with process mining projects.

Marek K. Zieliński
CTO, Co-Founder of 10 Senses
